Multi Locations - Overview and Activation

The Multi Locations feature is a paid add-on that allows you to have multiple locations for your Product Stock Inventory. You can use this feature to separate your stock pools, for example - you can use locations to separate your faulty stock, and sample sale stock from your main products stock inventory, even if it’s stored at the same physical location.

If you would like to enable this feature, contact [email protected].

Once switched on, the Multi Locations module will not affect your current inventory levels. You will still be able to work in your system as required, and inventory levels will remain as they were before you switched on the module. Please also note that you can pick and choose which aspects of the module you would like to implement.

Once the Multi Locations feature is enabled on your system, follow the steps below.

1. System Settings

Set Locations, apply rules for each Location, add addresses and set priorities

2. Assign Locations to Customers (if fulfilling Sales Orders from multiple Locations)

If you use multiple Locations for Sales Order fulfilment, assign Locations to Customers to fulfil Sales Orders:

3. Manage the Locations on your Sales Orders (if fulfilling Sales Orders from multiple Locations)

Locations can also be specified at the Sales Order level if you are fulfilling your Sales Orders from multiple inventory Locations:

4. Raise Production Orders (Dockets) to receive in multiple Locations

If you will be receiving production to multiple Locations, you now have the option to split your book ins/received quantities on one docket, between the selected Locations.

5. Allocate Closing Stock for a Specific Location

When you are ready to raise Pick Tickets, you will be prompted to select the Location you would like to pick the inventory from. Sales Orders with units of Closing Stock, relevant to the selected location will be listed as:

The rest of the functions of the Allocation module will remain the same.

6. Review your Inventory Levels across Locations

Your Product Stock Inventory will now show you either inventory across all Locations or can be filtered to view inventory and movements within a specific Location:

7. Transfer Stock between Locations

When managing inventory in multiple locations, you may find that you need to transfer stock between locations. Zedonk has a way to manage this with 'Transfer Requests'. A Transfer Request acts like a Sales Order between locations. These Transfer Requests will also have subdocuments:

> Transfer Request (TR) = Sales Order (SO)

> Transfer Ticket (TT) = Pick Ticket (PT)

> Transfer Note (TN) = Delivery Note (DN)

8. Manage the receipt of Returns to multiple Locations (if you have chosen multiple Locations to receive returns)

When marking units as back to stock on your return authorisations, you can choose which locations you would like to return those units to. i.e. if you have a 'Faulty' inventory Location, you can send the faulty units there:
